Why I combine microneedling with PRP
Microneedling creates controlled microchannels within the skin. Those microchannels stimulate a natural repair response that includes collagen production and tissue remodeling.
I typically combine microneedling with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) rather than performing microneedling alone.
PRP is prepared from a small sample of your own blood. We separate and concentrate the platelet-rich portion, which contains platelets and growth factors involved in your body’s natural healing and repair processes.
The microneedling device matters

SkinPen is a professional microneedling system that creates controlled microchannels at precise, adjustable depths. It has been clinically studied, can be used across skin types, and has little to no downtime.
Its FDA-cleared indications include improving the appearance of facial acne scars in adults 22 and older across all Fitzpatrick skin types and wrinkles of the neck in Fitzpatrick skin types II through IV.

Your own platelets become part of the treatment
After drawing a small amount of blood, we process it to separate the platelet-rich plasma. Those concentrated platelets contain growth factors, peptides, and other properties involved in tissue repair and healing.
Microneedling creates the controlled stimulus. PRP supports the environment in which your skin responds to that stimulus.
We give your skin a reason to repair, then support that process with your own platelet-rich plasma.
Want to add exosomes?
Exosome-based products may be incorporated into a microneedling treatment for an additional charge. These tiny extracellular vesicles act as messengers between cells and carry signaling molecules involved in cellular communication and tissue processes.
Early human research has reported encouraging changes in texture, hydration, elasticity, fine lines, pigmentation, and overall skin quality.
PRP
Comes from your own blood and uses your concentrated platelets and signaling components. Its composition naturally varies from person to person.
Exosome-based support
Uses a standardized professional formulation with specified regenerative signaling components for a more consistent treatment option.
Both approaches support the environment in which your skin heals, repairs, and remodels.

PRP can also be used in other ways
Depending on what we are addressing, PRP may also be injected into targeted areas of the face. This differs from microneedling because the treatment is placed directly into specific areas.

What to expect
Prepare
Your skin is cleansed and numbed. If using PRP, a small blood sample is drawn and processed.
Treat
SkinPen is passed over the area at personalized settings, and PRP or your selected support is incorporated.
Recover
Temporary redness, warmth, sensitivity, mild swelling, dryness, or a sunburned appearance can occur.
More aggressive doesn’t automatically mean better.
I choose the depth based on your skin and the result we are trying to create—enough stimulus for a meaningful response while respecting your skin’s ability to heal.
